Faith Without Works

Faith Without Works

James 2:14-16

What doth it profit, my brethren though a man say he hath faith and have not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister, be naked, and destitute of daily food. And one of say unto them, depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; not withstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body, What doth it profit.

You know there are so many people who believe that all they need to do is just have faith, people who believe they don’t have to be obedient to God, they need not follow the ways of the Lord because they are under grace all they have to do is believe. But you know these people are still blinded, they are still in darkness and need to wake up as soon as possible because the Bible is clear that faith without works is rather dead so someone somewhere is going drastically wrong, you see you cannot profess through saving faith Jesus Christ then refuse to obey him as Lord and Saviour of your life, you cannot profess Jesus Christ then refuse to walk in obedience of Him.

Romans 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE to the faith among all nations for His namesake.

People our obedience to Christ is one of the things that ought to separate us believers from the people of the world and that means along with our faith in Jesus Christ we have to work at being different, we have to work at following the examples that Christ set for us. We have to work at being different from the work so that all who see us will note the difference between us and them.

If all we have is faith by our confession and have no works with us, how are we different from the rest of the world, should we not be different through the imitation of Christ, was it not because the early disciples were behaving, walking and acting in the way of Christ that the Galatians people were able to identify them as followers of Christ.

Come now people Faith is a good thing, we need it in order to follow Christ but if you have faith and hath not works then you might as well be a lump of clay because you are not going anywhere, similarly works is important in our walk with Christ, the work of obedience, the work to love, to evangelise, to preach to teach His message and to separate ourselves from the world is important but if we do not accompanied the works with faith again we might as well be a lump of clay because we will not get anywhere so brothers and sisters let us stop the nonsense that we can just have faith and continue to do as the world do instead of being obedient to the things of Christ.

Finally my brethren I want to remind you of Exodus 19:10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.

Just as the Israelite was called out, wash and sanctify and given new clothes so too have we when we accept Christ been scrub of the grime we have been sanctify and given clean clothes to set us apart from the world so let us stop this nonsense of wanting to take up and put back on the dirty clothes because clean body in dirty clothes creates a stink.  And when we claim we have been washed clean and sanctify and wanting to continue with the things of the world then all you doing is creating a bad odour.
